 They're called farmers markets, but you'll see very few farmers at the area's numerous fresh markets. What you'll find is plenty of fresh vegetables, fruits, herbs, tea and everything from barbecued turkey legs to sweet-and-salty kettle corn to munch on.
The Bay area has at least a half-dozen farmers or fresh markets, each with its own personality. We went scouting to see what some offered. Here's a look:
